Kunst und Gaiakultur

Gerade bin ich zurückgekommen aus Maribor ... nicht einmal eine Stunde von Graz, und doch ist in unseren Köpfen die Grenze dazwischen!Die von meiner Malerfreundin Simona Suc liebevollst kuratierte Ausstellung "Foreshadowing" im städtischen Museum UGM war etwas wirklich Besonderes. Erst danach fand ich einen Absatz in Marko Pogačniks Buch "Maribor in its Strength and Beauty", der sich auf den Ort des Museums bezieht, welches über einem ehemaligen Kloster - Celestine - erbaut wurde: " ... I became aware of looking into the face of Earth´s divinity ... Earth as a divine entity of the Universe with her own role to play in the development of the universal whole and having her own identity beyond space and time. The Celestine monastery was willingly or unwillingly built above this heart center, which is charged with the task to keep the divine level of Maribor´s space alive. There is hope that art, shown now on the grounds of the former monastery complex, will be capable of supporting the role and the space of this prescious place." 

Das ist vielleicht auch umgekehrt eine Erklärung dafür, was diese Ausstellung mit ihrer Eröffnung war und ist ... Kunst als etwas viel Größeres als individuelle Verwirklichung, Freiheit vom System oder ästhetisches Vergnügen. Nochmals lasse ich hier Marko zu Wort kommen, weil ich just heute in seinem Lebensrückblick-Buch "Always in the Beginning" folgendes zum Thema gefunden habe:

"I don`t think it`s the purpose of art to be political - although I am not against it, of course. Ever since the end of the 18th century art freed itself from the servitude of feudal and ecclestiastical estates and became free, I have experienced it is capable of replacing the world religions and of shaping and expressing the depths of existence beyond dogmas and preconcieved notions. It is capable of ... expressing in a different way the meaning of being, the nature of space and of the beings we hardly know anymore. ... In some modern and contemporary works of visual art, for example, I see that they exist on several levels at once, that is, also as records on the etheric or vital-energy level, but also on a sacred level. Art can be an essential complement to the political level in contemporary society."

Diese sakrale Ebene, die hier erwähnt wird, habe ich bei dieser Ausstellung erlebt u.a. auch in der Art des Miteinanders jenseits jeglichen Konkurrenzempfindens und des unerwarteten Ineinander-Webens der verschiedenen Beiträge. (Die Ausstellung ist noch bis zum 5. Oktober zu sehen!)

Den letzten Absatz von Markos Zeilen kann ich aber ebenso gut auf unsere bzw. meine (Landschafts-)Workshops beziehen, die immer aus meiner künstlerischen Identität schöpfen und im Zusammenspiel mit den grandiosen Wesen, denen wir da begegnen, etwas im Sinne der "sozialen Plastik" des Joseph Beuys erschaffen. Die Wiederbegegnung mit Maribor nach acht Jahren, seitdem wir dort die Geopunktur zum Thema des Elementaren Herzens Europas und der Rolle Maribors in diesem errichtet haben, stand also wieder im Zusammenhang mit Kunst und zugleich dem konkreten, so reichen landschaftlichen Umfeld. Markos Worte über die Kunst und ihre mögliche Beziehung zur Politik bzw. politischen Situation können einen ein wenig hinweg trösten über die so sehr gewaltvolle Vergangenheit der Region.
